Voltaren Emulgel Forte 2% is a drug based on diclofenac, with anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, which belongs to the group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Its properties result mainly from an inhibition of the biosynthesis of certain prostaglandins by blocking prostaglandin synthetase.<\/p>\n
Its unique galenic: Emulgel guarantees rapid penetration and better absorption in the target tissue.<\/p>\n
In case of joint pain following inflammation, Voltaren Emulgel Forte 2% – Acts deeply on the joints – Relieves pain for 12 hours<\/p>\n
Indication<\/p>\n
Adults and adolescents aged 14 and over
\nPost-traumatic inflammation in tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints
\nLocalized forms of abarticular rheumatism such as tendovaginitis, shoulder-hand syndrome, bursitis, periarthropathies<\/p>\n
Only adults (18 years and over)
\nLocalized inflammatory rheumatic conditions such as inflammatory flare-ups of osteoarthritis in the peripheral joints and spine<\/p>\n
Adults and adolescents aged 14 and over: Symptomatic local treatment in the event of: – post-traumatic inflammation in the tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints; – localized forms of abarticular rheumatism such as tendovaginitis, shoulder-hand syndrome, bursitis, periarthropathies.<\/p>\n
Adults only (18 years and over): Symptomatic local treatment in the event of: – localized inflammatory rheumatic diseases such as inflammatory outbreaks of osteoarthritis in the peripheral joints and the spine.<\/p>\n
Use
\nAdults and adolescents> 14 years<\/p>\n
Every 12 hours, preferably morning and evening
\nDuration of treatment
\nMax. 2 weeks without medical advice (1 week in adolescents) in case of inflammation or localized forms of abarticular rheumatism
\nMax. 3 weeks without medical advice in case of localized inflammatory rheumatic diseases<\/p>\n
Gently rub the gel on the area to be treated
\nWash hands after application, unless the hands are the area to be treated
\n2 – 4 g (equivalent to the size of a cherry and a walnut) is sufficient to treat an area of \u200b\u200bapproximately 400-800 cm\u00b2<\/p>\n
Adults and adolescents 14 years and over: Dosage: Voltaren Emulgel Forte should be applied every 12 hours (preferably morning and evening) to the area to be treated. Voltaren Emulgel Forte should be rubbed gently.<\/p>\n
Method of administration: Depending on the size of the area to be treated: 2-4 g (an amount equivalent to the size of a cherry and a walnut) of Voltaren Emulgel Forte is sufficient to treat an area of \u200b\u200bapproximately 400-800 cm\u00b2 . After application, wash your hands unless the hands are the area to be treated.<\/p>\n
Duration of treatment: The duration of treatment depends on the indication and the clinical response. \u2022 For post-traumatic inflammation in the tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints and localized forms of abarticular rheumatism: the duration of the treatment will not exceed 2 weeks, without medical advice. \u2022 For localized inflammatory rheumatic diseases (only adults aged 18 and over): the duration of treatment should not exceed 3 weeks, without medical advice.<\/p>\n
When Voltaren Emulgel Forte is used on prescription for any of the above indications, the patient should see their doctor if symptoms have not improved or if they worsen after 1 week.<\/p>\n
Composition
\nOne gram of Voltaren Emulgel Forte 2% gel contains 23.2 mg diethylammonium diclofenac which corresponds to 20 mg diclofenac sodium.
