The active substance in Noscaflex is noscapine base, a centrally active non-narcotic cough suppressant. It is a derivative of benzylisoquinoline, a non-narcotic opium alkaloid. It has no analgesic effect. Likewise, it is unlikely to induce dependence.<\/p>\n

Use
\nDosage
\nAdults
\n1 tablet, 5 to 6 times per day (max. 6 x per day)<\/p>\n
Children from 12 years old
\n1 tablet, 4 to 5 times per day (max. 5 x per day)<\/p>\n
Children between 6 and 12 years old
\n1 tablet, 3 to 4 times per day (max. 4 x per day)<\/p>\n
The duration of treatment will be as short as possible. The dose will be kept as low as possible, taking into account the clinical effect.<\/p>\n
If the cough is resistant to a usual dosage after 5 days, the dose will not be systematically increased, but the clinical situation will be re-examined.<\/p>\n
The tablets can be chewed.<\/p>\n
Composition
\nNoscapine 15 mg
\nExcipient with known effect: Noscaflex contains 5.00 mg of aspartame (E951) per tablet, a source of phenylalanine. This can be dangerous for people with phenylketonuria.<\/p>\n
