Dosage
Cat
For external use only.
Dosage regimen
The minimum recommended doses are 3 mg of emodepside per kg of body weight and 12 mg of praziquantel per kg of body weight, i.e., 0.14 ml of veterinary medicinal product per kg of body weight.
Cat Weight | Pipette Size to Use | Volume (ml) | Emodepside (mg/kg) | Praziquantel (mg/kg)
>5 – 8 Profender for Large Cats 1.12 (1 pipette) 3 – 4.8 12 – 19.2
Administration
Remove one pipette from the packaging. Hold the pipette upright, twist, and pull off the cap. Use the cap upside down to screw on and pierce the pipette opening.
Part the fur at the base of the cat’s neck to expose the skin. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze firmly several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin. Applying the product at the base of the neck will minimize the possibility of the cat licking it.
Underdosing may render the veterinary medicinal product ineffective and promote the development of resistance.
To ensure proper dosage, live weight must be determined as accurately as possible. If animals are to be treated collectively, homogeneous groups must be formed, and all animals in a group must be treated with the dose corresponding to the weight of the heaviest animal.
