1. WHAT IS STODAL®, syrup AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

Pharmacotherapeutic group: homeopathic medicine

STODAL®, syrup is a homeopathic medicine traditionally used in the treatment of cough.

2. BEFORE YOU TAKE STODAL®, syrup?

If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to certain sugars, contact him before taking this medicine.

Never take STODAL®, syrup:

If you are allergic to the active substances or to any of the other ingredients of this medication mentioned in section 6.

Warnings and Precautions

The use of this medication is not recommended in patients with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase/isomaltase deficiency (rare hereditary diseases).

This medicinal product contains 3.45 g of sucrose for a dose of 5 mL and 10.3 g of sucrose for a dose of 15 mL, which must be taken into account in the daily ration in the event of a low sugar diet or in the event of diabetes. .

This medicinal product contains 1.06% v/v ethanol (alcohol), i.e. 0.042 g of ethanol for a 5 mL dose and 0.125 g of ethanol for a 15 mL dose, which equals 3.2 mL of beer and 1.3 mL of wine for a 15 mL dose. To be taken into account in pregnant or breast-feeding women, children and high-risk groups such as hepatic impairment or epileptics.

The use of this medication is dangerous in alcoholics.

This medicinal product contains 5.4 mg benzoic acid per 5 mL dose and 16.2 mg benzoic acid per 15 mL dose equivalent to 1.08 mg/mL.
Benzoic acid may increase the risk of jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes) in newborn babies (up to 4 weeks old).

Other medicines and STODAL®, syrup

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

Pregnancy and breast feeding

Due to the presence of alcohol, this medication is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or plan to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

STODAL®, syrup contains sucrose, ethanol and benzoic acid (E210)

3. HOW TO TAKE STODAL®, syrup?

Dosage

This medication should not be used in children under 2 years of age without medical advice.

Adults: 1 dose of 15 mL using the measuring cup 3 to 5 times a day.

Children: 1 dose of 5 mL using the measuring cup 3 to 5 times a day. An interval of at least 4 hours between two doses must be respected due to the presence of alcohol in the syrup.

Administration mode

Oral route.

Frequency of administration

Space out the catches as soon as there is improvement and stop taking them as soon as the symptoms disappear.

Duration of treatment

In adults: the duration of treatment should not exceed one week.

In children: the duration of treatment should be limited to 5 days due to the presence of alcohol in the syrup.

The absence of improvement after 3 days should lead to a medical consultation.

If you take more STODAL®, syrup than you should:

Immediately consult your doctor or pharmacist.

If you forget to take STODAL®, syrup:

Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose you forgot to take.

If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

5. HOW TO STORE STODAL®, SYRUP?

Keep this medication out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Do not store for more than 1 year after first opening.

Do not dispose of any medicine via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
