– Duphalac syrup is used to treat constipation (infrequent movement of the large intestine, hard, dry stools) and to produce loose stools. For example :

If you have had anal surgery or lower bowel surgery
Use:
The dose can be given once a day, eg. during breakfast or in 2 doses per day. After a few days, the loading dose may be adjusted to the maintenance dose depending on the
response to treatment. It takes several (2-3) days of treatment before you see any effect from the treatment.
Starting dose: Adults and adolescents: 1 – 3 sachets / day Children (7-14 years): 1 sachet / day
Maintenance dose: Adults and adolescents: 1 – 2 sachets
Children (7-14 years): 1 sachet / day (if the maintenance dose is less than 15ml, use duphalac syrup)
What Duphalac syrup contains
The active substance in Duphalac syrup is lactulose.
Duphalac syrup sachets: 1 sachet of 15 ml contains 10 g of lactulose.
